On Wednesday night G-Star RAW hosted an exclusive press screening of a short documentary called “The Plastic Age” at their Sandton City store, Johannesburg.
Directed by Jake Sumner and featuring Pharrell Williams, The Plastic Age reveals the extensity of plastic waste in our oceans. Shedding light on positive solutions, the documentary reveals the remarkable lengths scientists, activists and fashion labels are going to, to secure our oceans for future generations.

The documentary studies RAW for the Oceans, a partnered collaboration initiated by Parley for the Oceans with G-Star RAW and Bionic Yarn – a progressive textile producer where Williams is Creative Director. Turning plastic into fibres for use in fabrics, the project combines science, fashion, and activism with powerful results.
