One of G-Star RAW’s most daring and ambitious projects to date is the collaborative effort between themselves and musician and desigener Pharrell Williams. The G-Star RAW for the oceans project seeks to continue the move towards sustainability and environmentally friendly practices in the world of fashion. We featured the announcement of the collection a while back and today we bring you a preview of what you can expect in the Autumn/Winter 2014 Collection.
The capsule collection features, t-shirts, jeans, jackets, hoodies and hats that are made using Bionic Yarn, which are eco-friendly fibers that are made using recycled plastic bottles that were recovered in the ocean. This collection has resulted in 10 tons of waste plastic from the oceans being recycled. Shades such as indigo blue Mazarine and black are the dominant colours in this collection. Some of the t-shirts feature Otto the Octopus who has been the mascot for the Raw For The Oceans campaign since it was launched. One of the flagship male pieces in the collection is the A-Crotch trench which features a modern fit and is cut from printed Bionic Yarn raw denim.
The capsule collection will be available from September 2014.
