For his latest book project renowned photographer Horst A. Friedrichs set out to showcase the denim culture and denim style in London, the city the he calls Europe’s unofficial denim capital. Horst A. Friedrichs is a vintage enthusiast who holds denim close to his heart. The book covers the style and the lifestyles of London’s denim aficionados who are obsessed with denim and are denimheads just like us at Enjeanuity.
The project took seven months to complete and involved doing research tracking down the various people that work in the denim industry such as shop keepers and owners, designers and indigo fans on the street.
“In London it was like one big family, all the denim heads know each other. That was the nice thing about the project. You started off with a couple of people, and then everything just went like clockwork.”
Some of the industry insiders and denimheads that are interviewed in the book include Mohsin Sajid of the denim brand Endrime, Nicolai Sclater aka Ornamental Conifer, Darn + Dusted’s Luke Deverrell as well as the only denim weaver in London Daniel Harris of London Cloth Company who has clients such as Ralph Lauren. The book also features motorcycle and vintage enthusiasts who also share the same love and passion for denim.
This is the ideal book for any denimhead and makes a great collectors item and coffee table book. It is available for pre-order on amazon.com and will be released on the 25th of June.
