NIGO is a man who needs no introduction since he has developed a great reputation in the fashion and lifestyle industry over the years. He started Bape a luxury streetwear brand in Japan that went on to become popular globally which he then sold and the founded Human Made which he currently heads and has been involved in a wide variety of collaborative projects. Human Made makes clothes that pay homage to vintage and rustic workwear clothing. The vintage Americana workwear movement has always been very influential and popular in Japan and for this reason the most recent collaboration between LEE one of the oldest workwear manufacturers and NIGO does not come as that much of a surprise.
This LEE by NIGO denim capsule collection reaches deep into the roots of LEE and breathes life into the 1920s and 1930s by redesigning three distinct pieces; the 131, the 101 buckle-back cowboy jeans and the Whizit denim overall. The three jeans are made with a heavy vintage inspired look and consist of subtle details that are a true testament to the early 1900s era such as the use of raw denim fabric, selvage and contrast stitching. Special tags have also been put on the jeans as well as LEE by NIGO on the buttons and other parts of the jeans.
Unfortunately these jeans are a Japan only release and will only be available at selected stockists in Japan. Look out for them in the next few weeks.
