There is absolutely no doubt that Diesel is a denim icon with a great history since its inception in the 1970’s. Nicola Formichetti was recently appointed as artistic director at Diesel and is paying tribute to the brand’s heritage it his first heritage collection. The #DIESELTRIBUTE collection is sourced from a 35 year old company archive and comprises of garments constructed by hand by denim artisans in Italy. The studs and the patches on the denim are hand stitched so only three pieces could be made a day.
The concept behind Nicola Formichetti’s #DIESELTRIBUTE collection is to reboot and celebrate the Diesel brand by walking it through its traditional mastery of both denim and leather and to produce two distinct limited-edition ranges. The collection will have a range of 45 pieces consisting of both men and women’s clothing. The denim phase of the #DIESELTRIBUTE capsule collection will be launched on the 4th of November 2013 and the leather phase will follow next year in February.
