Tellason is a denim brand that we have come to know for making high quality men’s denim using the old traditional method of hand making them so we were very intrigued when we heard that they now have a pair available for the ladies as well. Men and women look for different features and characteristics when they buy premium denim. For men fit is important but we don’t make our decision on just the fit alone the construction of a pair of jeans is also very important to us , we look for details such as whether the denim is raw or pre-distressed and whether the jeans feature old style selvedge or they are chain stitched. Women on the other hand absolutely have to look great in a pair of jeans, the fit has to be perfect and the cut has to flatter her body so that she looks and feels beautiful in her jeans.
Women don’t generally wear raw denim it’s mostly a guy thing because it involves breaking into the jeans which are usually stiff and fit better the more you wear them and women mostly prefer a pair of jeans with stretch that will fit them an mould to their body immediately. Tellason’s Bird Straight Leg Lady Jean is the complete opposite of this however they might just be what women need to start having a greater appreciation for raw denim.
The jeans are made from 12,5oz Cone Mills White Oak blue line raw selvedge denim fabric. The jeans are made by hand in San Francisco and feature a leather patch made by Tanner Goods which is based in Portland Oregon. Unlike the men’s styles from Tellason they have a zipper fly. They will look better with time as the indigo fades developing distressing patterns that are unique to you and they will fit you better and mould to the shape of your body the more you wear them.
